How Access Bars changed my life

My first experience of the Bars was in my first Bars class - I felt a great sense of peace and deep relaxation I hadn't experienced before. It also released trauma from my body and mind in relation to an accident I had 15 years ago - it came flooding up in waves of gentle tears and was washed away with the Bars. This experience was life changing - I felt invigorated, energised and so excited that I had just learnt a technique that I could share with others in my life and also with my clients. 2 years after that class I am now a qualified Bars Facilitator so I can now teach the Bars Class. I have been having my Bars run every week for most of 2017 (about 8 months) which allows me to be fully present in my life and have an ease, joy and flow in my life that I have never had before. Sometimes the changes I experienced with the Bars were small and subtle but now I look back to what my life looked like 2 years ago - the change over this time is huge, dynamic and phenomenal - what would you like to change in your life that until now you thought was unchangeble? Get your bars run - even just once to open yourself up to new possibilities. I am so grateful for Chrissie Shirley teaching me the Bars - that first session I received from Chrissie during that class changed my life - what else is possible?

What are you gaining from your injury or trauma?

Sometimes injuries and past traumas don’t heal or resolve themselves no matter what healing or therapy we try. Why does that happen? What is getting in the way of this healing? Is it because you are gaining something, subconsciously from this injury or situation? I’ll share with you a recent example from my own life. Last Christmas Day I stepped off my brother-in-law’s deck into a large hollow in the lawn and badly rolled my ankle. It was so bad that I went and had x-rays taken just to make sure it wasn’t broken. Luckily for me it was just a very bad sprain and not a fracture. It took a LONG time to heal even with physiotherapy which did help immensely it was still not completely healed 8 weeks after the initial injury. Having this injury had impacted on mine and my families entire summer holiday. A lot of times I didn’t want to do things I would normally do because my ankle hurt, or I was worried about re-injuring it. It wasn’t until after my Physiotherapist had given me the al...
  * Creating Space * 2022 * In the practice of Nia we ‘Create the Space’ in our trainings, meetings and sometimes before class. It is a mindfulness practice that allows us to eliminate distractions. I am now choosing to enter a time where I will create the space for an extended period of time for myself personally & for my family - within the year of 2022. Creating space will also allow me to remove unnecessary distractions and allow for clarity so that I can actualize my life and living anew. By giving myself and my family time to rest, reflect and renew I will be in a better space to offer classes, workshops and individual sessions when the time is right in the future. Thank you for your understanding and patience through this space. I may still share some words and images of inspiration and healing on my business FB pages from time to time if the feeling takes me. In practical terms individual sessions finished on Thursday 2nd December 2021. My last online Nia class was on W...
